STORIES FROM A FEW FAMILIES THAT HAVE RECEIVED OUR ASISSTANCE

My son has hypothyroidism. He does require daily medication and blood work to be drawn every few months. We also have to make trips down to Children's Hospital as his current provider doesn't feel comfortable adjusting his medication at this time. We also hit a pretty rough patch when my same son had an accident which ended up needing multiple x-rays and an MRI which resulted in a bill for more than $1,000. We did receive assistance last year which we were beyond grateful for especially around the holidays.

We recently welcomed our second baby girl and have/are having many health difficulties again. I was in the hospital a week prior to delivery with preeclampsia, then resulting in another c section. Our daughter is now in the NICU, due to being born at 36 weeks gestation. As a result, my husband and I have not been able to work full hours (me not at all, I had to stop my in home daycare completely 3 weeks ago for the time being). We are overwhelmed with bills already and haven’t even received them all yet. Any and all help would be appreciated. Our out of pocket max is $12,000.00 which we will/have reached.

My son has duchenne muscular dystrophy. The fda recently approved a $3.2 million gene therapy to prolong his life and he was recently approved by insurance to receive it. I am a single parent and will need to take a lot of time off of work for his treatment and will need to take him to Milwaukee weekly for months for post-infusion check-ups.

My son was in a terrible accident which has left him quadriplegic. With our insurance we have we are struggling to get the necessary supplies he needs either on time or at all. A lot of things have come out of pocket. We are trying to have my son be seen at Shirley Ryan in Chicago. They do a 3 part assessment to see if for one they can help at all and for two what specialties they can help with to regain mobility. My son has a lot in his favor if we can get him these resources. He's healthy, young, very driven and wants so bad to work hard to recover as much as possible. With hopes to walk again. He's so young and as a mother watching my son struggle has been heartbreaking. I went from working full time to no work at all due to full time caregiving for my son.
